December is coming … and the holidays too!

It’s amazing how quickly this year went by … December is just around the corner and it comes with 3 long free days, that, so far, we guess will be respected. Although it is a different year, the beginning of winter is one of the most beautiful seasons. So here are the dates of the holidays and a few ideas so that you can take advantage of it within the Community of Madrid.

Holidays:

December 5 to 8: “Bridge of the Constitution” (12/6: Day of the Spanish Constitution and 12/8: Immaculate Conception Day)

December 25-27:Christmas

January 1st – 3st: New Years

Some outdoor plans that you should not miss:

  • Plaza Mayor Christmas Market:

It is a traditional and symbolic event for Madrilenians, located in the Plaza Mayor since November 27. In the peculiar booths you can find Christmas decorations, nativity scenes and some typical sandwiches. This year, 50% of the normal capacity must be respected. Stop by in the afternoon to avoid crowds.

  • Naturaleza Encendida at Jardín Botánico

As every year, the Royal Botanical Garden is filled with lights, becoming a must-see place. It is an immersive experience with illuminated flower paths, sculptures with lights and sounds worthy of a show. Seating is limited and you can buy your tickets here.

  • Madrid Snow Zone

Skiing in Madrid is also possible. Where? at the Xanadú Shopping Center. This year they have put together a snow slope where you can ski as if you were in the Alps! well … maybe not, but … don’t you think is a good plan? See more information here.

Remember that the virus is still around … so keep in mind the basic safety measures at all times: mask, hand washing and safety distance.
